How It Works — Left-Hand Spiral Flutes

1. Center-punch the broken fastener.
2. Drill a pilot hole — use a left-hand drill where possible; the broken bolt may come out during drilling.
3. Tap in the extractor — the tapered helical tip seats firmly in the pilot hole.
4. Turn counterclockwise with a tap wrench or extractor handle — the harder the bolt fights, the tighter the bite.
